The Team is the story of two young talented football players from two different social classes—Napoka, 25, and Hervé, 23. Napoka has a precarious job in a store, while Hervé is a law student from a rich family. Each is predestined to a different future, yet they share a passion for football—where social divides dissolve as team spirit is built. Napoka, facing the harsh reality of tribalism in Africa, is fired from his job because he is not from the same ethnic group as his employer. Napoka’s father has no income, and his girlfriend humiliates him. Napoka decides to leave the team and look for a job. When he finds all doors are closed to him he becomes disillusioned, until his teammate and true friend Hervé comes to the rescue.
